LARC (LAUTE Academic Research Colloquium)
LARC (LAUTE Academic Research Colloquium) is a new series of (roughly) monthly seminars and talks held in hybrid mode (Vilnius University and online, via Teams). LARC is open to LAUTE as well as to non-LAUTE members, although LAUTE members have exclusive right to receive video recordings of the talks (pending the speaker's prior consent). LARC's aims are:
- To share best practices and opportunities and learn from (and about) each other
- To create a sense of community among LAUTE members and beyond via regular meetings
- To enhance the standing of LAUTE within ESSE
- To invite also non-LAUTE guests to share their expertise
LARC encompasses two kinds of event series: research seminars and professional skills.
Research seminars focus on research topics, and enable LAUTE members to promote their most recent publication or rehearse for upcoming conferences. Research seminars will start from September 2027.
Professional skills seminars focus instead on issues including, but not limited to, the following:
- applying for funds
- joining or leading networks & reading groups
- promoting your research
- sharing experience in peer reviewing papers
- strategic planning of publications
- writing recommendation letters for students
- writing successful book proposals
- using specific research software
Two professional skills seminars already took place (click on the titles below to access the abstracts and the speakers' bios):
